The IoT (Internet of Things) Commercial team plays a vital role in understanding market trends and opportunity, building strategic ecosystem partnerships, shaping IoT solutions and applications, and accelerating revenue growth through innovation and scaling unique got-to-market models.  If you are interested in working with a diverse global team of domain experts focused on solving today’s most challenging business problems through the application of cutting edge IoT Technology, we’d love to hear from you!

 

As an intern, you might: 

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends in IoT, such as new technologies, use cases, and industry verticals where market-ready IoT solutions do not currently exist.
  • Develop strategic IoT Ecosystem partnerships with other players in the IoT market that have differentiated technology that compliments/augments SAS’ industry leading IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence technology. This will include all profiles of organization, from innovative IoT startups to academic institutions, to large Fortune 500 companies…all ahead of the new technology curve in IoT.
  • Work as part of a vertically integrated IoT Division to shape product strategy and solution design by understanding specific customer needs and market demands.
  • Work within our Business Development team, and alongside SAS Sales teams to identify high-potential end customers, qualify leads, and convert leads into revenue by promoting the value of our IoT Ecosystem and the capabilities we bring to market.
  • Assist with the negotiation of commercial contracts, building comprehensive multi-year business plans, develop flexible economic frameworks and unique go-to-market models, and engaged in customer-facing presentations to secure new business.
  • Gain vital experience interacting with executive leadership at our partners, customers, and withing SAS.

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Current student puruing a bachelor's degree in Business, Technology Management, Computer Science/Engineering but with strong people skills and a desire to learn the business side of applied technology.
  • Have strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Technical Literacy - basic understanding of IoT, IoT devices, IoT software, and the use of data to solve problems
  • Problem-Solving - Ability to break down complex problems, critical thinking, and creativity
  • You’re a college student enrolled in an accredited program, not graduating prior to December 2025
  • You’re interested in the future of Analytics and embrace technology.

Internship dates: May 20, 2025 – August 8, 2025. We can be flexible on start date if your university is on a quarter system.  Internships last 12 weeks in total length. 

 

Location:  SAS Cary HQ preference, but open to remote (US based only)

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicant’s year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 – $31 for associate’s/bachelor’s level positions and $29 - $49/hour for master’s/Ph. D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonus.
