[Summer 2025] Feature Design Intern, Marvel Snap

Second Dinner (US Remote)

Who We Are

Second Dinner is an award-winning independent game development studio that is here to make the most fun games in the world. Not super fun games. Not SUPER DUPER fun games. We mean the MOST fun games. In fact, our game MARVEL SNAP has earned multiple Mobile Game of the Year Awards (Game Awards, DICE), Best Strategy Game (IGN), and the Apple Design Award for Innovation!

Second Dinner is a remote-first studio, so while we are headquartered in Irvine, California, most of our team is fully remote across the United States. We want the most talented teammates wherever they call home. A diverse team with varied perspectives makes us a better company and will help us make better games. If you can bring something new to the table and expand our point of view, that's a huge upside.

About the Internship

As a member of the 2025 Second Dinner internship class, your contribution will play a pivotal role in shaping our internship experience as we enter our third year, ensuring its continued success for years to come! While we're still finalizing the specific dates, we are aiming for the internship duration to be approximately 12 to 13 weeks. This role will be fully remote, but if you are local to HQ, there will be opportunities for you to work from the office.

Our Design Team

At Second Dinner, we believe great design ideas come from everywhere and everyone, and it’s our job as Game Designers to collate, refine, implement, iterate and help bring those ideas to life. We partner with every part of the studio, art, engineering, production, UX, product, analytics, and sound, to make the most fun and engaging experiences possible for our players. The Design team drives the designs of both live in-game experiences and all upcoming features and content going into the game worldwide.

Your Role

The goal of this role is to create a space where you feel encouraged to ask questions and learn about Feature Design while gaining hands-on experience. We want you to be exposed to the various problems that our Feature Design team tackles daily and assist in solving them. In this internship, you’ll own and assist in creating potential new features that will be used in the game. There will be opportunities to create prototypes of these features in programs such as Unity and Figma. You’ll interact with the entire team and gain understanding of what a live game pipeline looks like.

What You’ll Do:

  • Gain hands-on experience supporting and developing a live mobile game

  • Collaborate with the UX, Game Design, and Product teams on ideas and improvements for the game

  • Contribute to the Features of Marvel Snap by creating prototypes for new ideas and live ops tuning out existing features

  • Communicate your design ideas to the team as well as priorities/updates through meetings, documentation, and Slack

What You’ll Need:

  • Passion for game design

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Desire to learn and grow

  • Excitement to try new things, take on challenges, and learn from mistakes in a safe space

  • Experience creating game systems and features

  • Experience working with design tools

Nice to Have, But Not Necessary:

  • Experience working with Figma and Unity

  • Experience on a game team, or working on a game

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled at a university or college and returning there after this internship

  • Eligible to work in the United States
