Our Education Visualization and Analytics Solution (EVAAS) provides educators with powerful analytics and visualizations for reflecting on practices and planning for students’ future needs and goals. Now more than ever, educators need reliable data and tools on students’ learning and future success.
The EVAAS team is a specialized division at SAS that focuses exclusively on education solutions, and we partner with state education agencies and districts across the country to support their analytic, consulting, and reporting needs. Our mission is to provide educators with information to make sound instructional choices and use resources more strategically to ensure that every student has the best chance to succeed.
As an intern, you might:
- Support the development of policy briefs, research papers, and technical documentation.
- Analyze outcomes-based data and summarize results for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor education policy news and research in relevant areas, such as achievement, growth, learning loss and recovery, assessments, and school accountability.
- Document internal processes and strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Degree Type: Master's
- Targeted majors: public policy, public administration, education, communication, or analytics programs.
- You’re a student enrolled in an accredited program, not graduating prior to December 2025.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a remote or hybrid work environment.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Capable of interpreting complex mathematical documentation.
- You’re curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.
- Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate you’ll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty.
- You’re interested in the future of Analytics and embrace technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- A background in education, assessments, government, or policy is a plus.
Location
This internship will be a hybrid position based in Cary, NC, with the option to be fully remote.
Internship dates:
May 20 – August 8, 2025: Full-time during the Summer (35hr/week)
August 9 onward: Part-time during the semester (15-20hr/week)

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicant’s year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 – $31 for associate’s/bachelor’s level positions and $29 - $49/hour for master’s/Ph.D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonus.
