The Opportunity
Ulteig is currently seeking talented and motivated Studies level engineering candidates to support power system studies and transmission planning projects within the renewable energy and power markets.
What You'll Do
The studies engineer is expected to perform system studies such as short circuit, arc flash, load flow, transient overvoltage, and harmonics utilizing PSSE, ETAP, EasyPower, PSCAD and other software packages; to be a self-motivated individual who can provide quality support to wind, solar, and BESS generator owners in system studies in a fast-paced environment; help develop procedures for new study areas; to identify and support business development; and to utilize python scripting for implementing efficient processes.
What We Expect from You
- Bachelorâs degree in Electrical Engineering required, ABET accredited program, or equivalent requiredÂ
- A minimum of 4 years of working experience, with at least 3 years of experience directly related to power systems
- Experience with programming in Python preferredÂ
- Independently completes assigned tasks requiredÂ
- EIT status and ability to work toward PE certification preferredÂ
- Actively manages individual workloadÂ
- Must be a self-starter and willing to identify improvements and implement them, utilizing support from othersÂ
- Must be comfortable asking questions to team when learning new skillsÂ
- Must be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitudeÂ
- Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skillsÂ
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, clients and external agenciesÂ
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.SÂ
