About the Role
The Educational Equality Institute (TEEI) is seeking highly respected industry professionals, corporate leaders, and philanthropists to serve as Strategic Advisors on our Advisory Board. This role is designed for individuals who excel at high-level relationship building, strategic guidance, and philanthropic engagement and are eager to contribute their expertise to a mission-driven nonprofit organization focused on education, mentorship, and workforce development.
As a Strategic Advisor, you will provide critical input on fundraising, corporate partnerships, and nonprofit strategy, ensuring that TEEI continues to scale its programs for underserved communities, particularly women, refugees, and displaced individuals. Description
As a Strategic Advisor, you will play a key leadership role in helping TEEI expand its philanthropic reach, build high-value partnerships, and refine its long-term growth strategy. Your advisory support will help TEEI enhance its financial sustainability and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Advisory Leadership & Strategic Planning:
- Provide high-level guidance on fundraising, organizational expansion, and nonprofit sustainability.
- Offer expertise in corporate philanthropy, social impact investment, and major donor engagement.
- Support TEEI’s leadership team in refining key growth strategies and funding approaches.
Fundraising & Corporate Engagement:
- Act as a connector between TEEI and corporate sponsors, private donors, and philanthropic organizations.
- Facilitate introductions to high-net-worth individuals, venture philanthropists, and corporate giving programs.
- Help the organization meet its fundraising goals of $25,000–$50,000 per advisor through personal contributions or facilitated donations.
Networking & Partnership Development:
- Identify and pursue opportunities for new funding streams, strategic alliances, and grant partnerships.
- Represent TEEI at industry events, networking forums, and philanthropic gatherings to expand visibility.
- Serve as an advocate for educational equity, workforce development, and economic empowerment.
Engagement & Participation:
- Attend quarterly advisory board meetings (virtual or in-person) to provide key strategic input.
- Participate in fundraising and donor stewardship activities to help cultivate long-term supporters.
- Work collaboratively with other Advisory Board Members and the Board of Directors to ensure aligned strategic priorities.
Requirements
TEEI is seeking accomplished business executives, social impact leaders, and philanthropic influencers with experience in fundraising, corporate partnerships, nonprofit growth, or financial strategy.
Ideal Candidates Have:
✔ A passion for education, workforce development, and economic mobility.
✔ Experience in fundraising, corporate social responsibility (CSR), donor relations, or nonprofit advisory roles.
✔ A strong professional network of corporate executives, foundation leaders, or major donors.
✔ Expertise in finance, legal compliance, technology, education, or philanthropy (preferred but not required).
✔ Prior experience serving on an advisory board or in nonprofit leadership (preferred but not required).
✔ The ability to dedicate 5–10 hours per quarter to strategic guidance, donor engagement, and board activities.
Fundraising Commitment:
Each Strategic Advisor is expected to contribute or raise between $25,000 and $50,000 annually through personal donations, sponsorship outreach, or donor engagement.
