Statistical Reporting Compliance Analyst

Reporting to our Senior Director of Legal and Regulatory Compliance, this role’s main mission is to ensure insurance regulatory compliance with applicable state, federal and other regulatory statistical and other reporting requirements. As a Statistical Reporting Compliance Analyst, you will be responsible for resolving WCPOLS, WCSTATS reporting questions from stakeholders, including internal stakeholders and state bureaus, as well as responding to questions regarding statutes, regulations, and contributing to research regarding reporting and compliance related issues. In this role, cross-functional and intra-team collaboration are critical. You will be a part of the regulatory compliance team but will work with product, underwriting, audit, customer service, and engineering on a regular basis.
How You’ll Do It
Statistical and Regulatory Reporting:
- Undertake analysis and oversight of reported data, including financial data calls, stat reporting, and other required regulatory reports.
- Calls to National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), Insurance Services Office (ISO), Independent Rating Bureaus, and Departments of Insurance
- WCPOLS, WCSTATS, and Bureau/DOI Assessments
- Responsible for continuous review of automated and manual processes for distribution, tracking, and follow-up of bureau criticisms, including proof of coverage.
- Responsible for overseeing commercial auto policy reporting through CV-ALIR.
- Manage relationships with third-party reporting vendors.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that Pie operations and procedures, including internal teams and external third-party vendors, meet state and bureau regulatory compliance requirements. Key areas of coordination include underwriting, insurance product, premium audit, stat/regulatory reporting, and operations.
- Monitor, analyze, communicate, and control changes to meet new state regulatory requirements from regulatory agencies and other resources. Review changes for potential impact on current business practices.
- Review and analyze insurance policies, forms, and rates to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Provide compliance guidance to internal business units.
- Manage and efficiently distribute emails coming into regulatory compliance team inboxes to the correct internal team member or external party.
- Assist with company corporate and expansion application submission and tracking requirements.
Research and Analysis:
- Independently plan, manage, and complete projects as directed.
- Synthesize, summarize, and communicate results of research in clear, concise language.
- Perform intermediate analyst work to support a compliant insurance organization, including investigation, root cause analysis, brainstorming, and monitoring of results and controls.
- Conduct internal audits to identify potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
The Right Stuff
- Bachelor's Degree preferred; high school diploma with college coursework required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the insurance industry is required.
- Specific working knowledge of statistical reporting including, but not limited to NCCI, ISO, and Independent Rating Bureaus is preferred.
- Knowledge of workers’ comp or commercial auto insurance filing requirements preferred.
- Data review and analysis skills are required.
- Ability to analyze and coalesce myriad information, data, and sources into cohesive reports.
- Demonstrated experience working with and protecting sensitive and confidential information is preferred.
- Intermediate problem solving skills to be able to manage tasks and work through to solutions with guidance and direction.
- Demonstrated experience working with G-Suite tools and collaboration tools is preferred.

Location Information
Unless otherwise specified, this role has the option to be hybrid or remote. Hybrid work locations provide team members with the flexibility of working partially from our Denver office and from home. Remote team members must live and work in the United States* (*territories excluded), and have access to reliable, high-speed internet.
