Staff Software Engineer - Frontend Architecture

The Frontend Architecture squad owns Workiva’s application shell, and our proprietary microfrontend framework that seamlessly integrates multifarious frontends. This dedicated team ensures efficient Dart and TypeScript interoperability, enabling smooth and robust interaction between the two languages. 

As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you will play a central role in guiding, mentoring, and leading engineers, while also helping shape the technological vision of our frontend environment. You will lead efforts to elevate the frontend developer experience, championing the implementation of cutting-edge capabilities such as microfrontends, and the application shell. Your leadership will be instrumental in fortifying the scalability, adaptability, and expansiveness of our web applications. Through close collaboration with our talented engineering and design cohorts, you will drive the delivery of top-tier solutions that exceed our customers' expectations.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and enhance the user interface for the application shell, consider how architectural changes impact downstream teams

• Participate in shaping the technical strategy for TypeScript in a multi-language microfrontend environment

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and a cohesive user experience

• Optimize UI performance and responsiveness to deliver a smooth user experience

• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and other stakeholders to understand and refine project requirements and ensure alignment with product vision and strategy

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that follows industry best practices and coding standards

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to ensure code quality and consistency

• Deliver and document team or group level technical solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and automated tests (unit, integration, functional, etc.) with Workiva solutions in mind to ensure software quality and reliability
