Staff Platform Engineer

This is a U.S. based position. All of the programs we support require U.S. citizenship to be eligible for employment. All work must be conducted within the continental U.S.

We’re looking for an experienced Staff Platform Engineer to support our customers and join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers.

About the role:

The Staff Platform Services Engineer will have software engineering experience building and deploying applications to hybrid-infrastructure developer platforms (private and commercial cloud infrastructure). You will have experience working with customer application teams to edit/correct helm charts, deploy to containerized platforms, and use observability, monitoring, and alerting tools to run post release testing. With leadership skills, they will mentor junior to mid-level engineers and have strong communication skills for high-level stakeholder interaction.

What we are looking for:

• 3+ years of overall hands-on experience developing production software leveraging modern languages (including Java, Python, Go, NodeJS, etc.)
• In-depth experience developing containerized services deployed in production on orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Mesos, Swarm, etc.
• Extensive background with agile and lean software development philosophies
• Practical experience working with relational and/or non-relational databases e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, etc.
• Demonstrated experience with modern version control systems such as Git, Subversion, Mercurial, etc.
• Ability to obtain a SECRET or above security clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or an equivalent technical degree; or equivalent industry experience
• Obtain Security+ within the first 90 days of employment with Raft

Highly preferred: 

• Mastery of relational and non-relational databases
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform

Clearance Requirements:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

• May require up to 10% travel

Salary Range:

• $120,000 - $190,000
• The determination of compensation is predicated upon a candidate's comprehensive experience, demonstrated skill, and proven abilities
