Job Description

We are looking for an accomplished and enthusiastic Data Engineer with big data processing experience to join our engineering team. You will develop world class products to promote Merkle's people-based marketing vision using the latest cloud-based technologies. You will work with a team of passionate, experienced engineers that are solving complex problems and building data analysis features for our world class solutions. You will embrace change, and build, test, and scale solutions that guide incremental value for our customers and partners. You will also directly work with client solution teams, guide, and support them in their efforts. You will report to the VP, Identity Engineering. This is a remote role.

Responsibilities:

  • You will engage with client solution teams, vendors, and partners to facilitate client onboarding and manage ongoing platform development.
  • You will collaborate with multiple teams within a comprehensive data-sharing ecosystem.
  • You will implement Agile methodologies to ensure rapid and iterative delivery of feature sets.
  • You will investigate and integrate the latest technologies and solutions to enhance project outcomes for your team.
  • You will play an active role in the entire product development cycle, observing industry standards: from design and implementation to unit testing, code reviews, and deployment through continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
  • You will contribute to quality assurance and exhaustive testing procedures.
  • You will contribute to the construction and maintenance of data assets.
  • You will maintain communication channels, comprehend our goals, and draft detailed user and technical documentation.
  • You will troubleshoot and rectify production issues, while also providing on-call support after hours as needed.
  • You will foster a team environment that is cooperative, upbeat, and conducive to creative development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years software engineering experience
  • 3+ years' experience in cloud base technologies, such as Snowflake and AWS
  • Strong database fundamentals including SQL, relational and non-relational data models and schema designs, and understanding of database performance implications.
  • Understanding of "Big Data" concepts, data processing methods and data pipelines
  • Experienced with an object-oriented programming principles and languages, like (Java and Python)
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems
  • Good Unix command line skills and Bash scripting
  • Familiarity with containers like Docker, Kubernetes or Container Services
  • Knowledge of software engineering and development methodologies, techniques, and tools, including Agile Development, Issue Tracking (JIRA), code repositories (Git, Bitbucket), Software Development Lifecycle and testing methodologies
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment principles

Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $113,000-$182,850. Salary is based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
