Position Description:
Work closely with the DevOps Manager and engineering leaders from the business unit to develop, implement, and embrace new infrastructure and application deployment pipeline solutions. Establish a competitive edge for Cengage by leading our DevOps initiatives, ensuring our continuous integration and deployment processes are innovative and industry leading.
Responsibilities:
- Successfully lead implementation of DevOps solutions, optimizations, and projects, assembling and leading cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate closely with business unit technical leaders to determine their needs, leading them to adopt and support best-practice DevOps solutions.
- Maintain deep contextual awareness of Cengage’s business and systems processes.
- Drive continuous advancement in automation, monitoring, and deployment processes.
- Lead the development and implementation of security practices for DevOps pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
- Act as fourth-level engineering support, solving complex technical interdependencies.
- Provide methods for observing and controlling cloud costs.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
Technical Proficiencies:
- Proven technical leadership in CI/CD pipeline automation with 10-12 years of DevOps and Cloud experience.
- Expertise with tools like Kubernetes, Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins, Artifactory, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Jira, Sonar, Snyk.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience in AWS Cloud hosting.
- Application development experience a plus.
- Proven technical leadership in crafting, building, and maintaining complex technology infrastructure and application service environments.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with geographically dispersed teams.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to DevOps team members.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
