Position Description:

Work closely with the DevOps Manager and engineering leaders from the business unit to develop, implement, and embrace new infrastructure and application deployment pipeline solutions. Establish a competitive edge for Cengage by leading our DevOps initiatives, ensuring our continuous integration and deployment processes are innovative and industry leading.

Responsibilities:

• Successfully lead implementation of DevOps solutions, optimizations, and projects, assembling and leading cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate closely with business unit technical leaders to determine their needs, leading them to adopt and support best-practice DevOps solutions.
• Maintain deep contextual awareness of Cengage’s business and systems processes.
• Drive continuous advancement in automation, monitoring, and deployment processes.
• Lead the development and implementation of security practices for DevOps pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
• Act as fourth-level engineering support, solving complex technical interdependencies.
• Provide methods for observing and controlling cloud costs.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.

Technical Proficiencies:

• Proven technical leadership in CI/CD pipeline automation with 10-12 years of DevOps and Cloud experience.
• Expertise with tools like Kubernetes, Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins, Artifactory, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Jira, Sonar, Snyk.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience in AWS Cloud hosting.
• Application development experience a plus.
• Proven technical leadership in crafting, building, and maintaining complex technology infrastructure and application service environments.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with geographically dispersed teams.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to DevOps team members.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
