Summary of Position

The Network Architect will provide technical leadership for Teladoc’s network infrastructure and Network Engineering Team.  This includes technical consultation, solution design, and technical oversight of projects.  The Network Architect also provides guidance for the network engineers.  Teladoc Health’s Network Engineering covers multi-cloud environments, production and corporate (on-premises) datacenters and networks.

This role will lead the network infrastructure aspects of Teladoc’s shift to the Azure cloud and shift to management of infrastructure as code by interfacing with DevOps and application developers/owners to gain knowledge of Teladoc’s current infrastructure and applications, and ultimately design and facilitate an optimal presence in the hybrid multi-cloud/on-premises environment. 

Senior Network Architect will be a high-caliber, multidimensional technologist with a proven track record of designing, migrating, and maintaining (Azure) multi-cloud environments as well as on-premises networking.  Candidates must have experience and a reputation for leading organizations to modern networking technologies at all levels of the OSI stack.

This role is open to 100% remote employee within the United States.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the company’s migration to Azure cloud and infrastructure-as-code from the networking perspective.  Represent the networking practice in the project leadership team from design through implementation.

  • Design and recommend networking solutions as presented with company objectives and needs. 

  • Work with management to define the network roadmap for the coming year(s).

  • Facilitate and provide technical guidance on projects both internal and external.

  • Regularly collaborate with other Technology department teams and Product teams to understand their needs for and consumption of networking technologies and proactively present solutions that meet their needs in the present and future.

  • Identify opportunities for automation throughout the network, including optimization of legacy and on-premises systems, processes, and procedures. Recommend appropriate automation solutions.

  • Work with DevOps to develop proper repositories, workflows, and pipelines for managing cloud infrastructure as code.

  • Identify new (networking) technologies and solutions and demonstrate their potential benefit to the company.

  • Collaborate with Information Security team to ensure the safety and security of Teladoc’s networks; ensure all security objectives are met.

Required Qualifications Expected for Position

  • 5+ years of Network Architect experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 3+ years of cloud environment experience with an emphasis on the Microsoft Azure platform.

  • Ability to portray an entire solution from a proper (network/solution) diagram. Excellent diagram and documentation skills.

  • Expertise in all layers of the OSI model and fundamental networking protocols (TCP, UDP, ICMP, BGP, OSPF, HTTP, SSH, SNMP, NTP, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications Expected for Position

  • 3+ years managing infrastructure-as-code and other SDN environments

  • Juniper JNCIE and/or Cisco CCIE certification

  • Expertise with Juniper routers, Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls, Arista switches, and Radware/Alteon application delivery controllers.

  • Ability and willingness to keep current with all modern and upcoming applicable technologies.

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $170,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here Teladoc Health Benefits 2024. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
