Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have one to three years of experience in accounting, with a strong foundation in GAAP and best practices. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development in a fast-paced environment. Join our dynamic team in a remote capacity from anywhere in the U.S., but please note our core operating hours align with Pacific Standard Time (PST).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Perform month-end close procedures, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and projects.
  • Provide support during external audits and tax filings.
  • Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the finance department.
  • Utilize best practices and new technologies to help the department scale as the organization grows.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: One to three years as a staff accountant or similar role.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Skills: 
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
    • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (comfortable with pivot tables and vlookups).
    • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in performing variance analysis and problem-solving skills.
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
    • Healthcare services experience is a plus.
    • Prior experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
    • CPA or progress towards CPA certificate is a plus.
