Position Overview: 

Under the direction of the Finance Supervisor, this position is responsible for a broad range of Finance activities and the proactive financial support of the RQIP business. The Staff Accountant II has primary responsibility for month-end close, General Ledger account reconciliations, and fixed asset maintenance. This position supports the Accounts Receivable/Billing Analyst and Accounts Payable Specialist positions in their responsibilities for RQIP customer invoicing, Accounts Receivable, revenue reporting, Accounts Payable, and employee expense reimbursement. This position prepares financial statements, provides financial analysis, and develops/maintains efficient and compliant financial processes.

Position Holder is Accountable For: 

  • General Accounting processes – journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Administration of the Fixed Asset system – Ensuring accurate set up, depreciation and disposal of assets
  • Month-End Close Procedures – administering/improving current process
  • Providing accurate and timely reporting and analysis of financial results
  • Revenue analysis & reporting
  • Developing and maintaining efficient and compliant financial processes
  • Assuring compliance to Generally Accepted Accounting Practices and internal policies and procedures
  • Activities related to various financial audits

Required Skills and Competencies: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Approximately 3-5 years’ experience in the principles and practices of general accounting
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel
  • Skilled in use of automated accounting packages (i.e. Sage Intacct)
  • Skilled in oral and written communications
  • Ability to interact with all levels of RQIP and partner businesses’ staff, customers, vendors and others
  • Ability to analyze financial data
  • Strong customer service skills

The estimated annual base salary for this position is $70,000 to $75,000. Please note that this range does not include any other compensation or benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, level of education attained, and/or professional certifications, years of relevant experience, special skills, etc.
