Staff Accountant
NYC or Remote
We are looking for a highly motivated Staff Accountant with a positive attitude to support our Corporate Accounting team. The Staff Accountant will assist in the accounting function’s goal to scale with the company’s growth. This role will be responsible for the month-end accounting close process, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliation workpapers. Furthermore, this role will assist in the P2P and Order to Cash cycles.
Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, the ideal candidate will have experience in both a public accounting firm and working within the SaaS industry. In addition, the candidate will have a strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and experience working with auditors.
You can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. or at Olo’s headquarters in NYC.
What You'll Do
- Reconcile monthly bank activity to accounting ledger and bank statements
- Record month-end journal entries
- Drive efficiency and automation of various month-end processes to standardize processes and strengthen internal controls
- Investigate any difference between funds processed through payment processing application to cash received in the bank
- Analyze new or unusual transactions, payment streams, or reconciling items to determine the appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Support management on ad-hoc analysis and projects, as needed
- Serve as back up support for the Accounts Payable team throughout the P2P process including responding to vendor inquiries, obtaining vendor invoices and internal approvals, and posting payments
- Work with external firms to provide support for annual audit and tax requests to ensure filings are completed in an accurate and timely manner
What We'll Expect From You
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in a SaaS environment
- Excellent MS Excel skills
- High level of familiarity with Intacct and Coupa is a plus
- Active CPA or CPA eligible strongly preferred
