Job Description

As a Staff Accountant II, you’ll impact the lives of everyday people and help them go from surviving to thriving with innovative digital personal finance solutions. Our Staff Accountants have the opportunity to work closely with our business operations and broader finance organization supporting best practices for the company.   

What you’ll do:

  • Perform month-end account closing activities and journal entries
  • Prepare monthly accruals for large spends on marketing, legal, consulting and general expenses
  • Complete cash reconciliations
  • Support monthly variance analysis of financial statements investigating and commenting on variances
  • Maintain and update the balance sheet account reconciliations supporting GAAP compliance
  • Support external audit in compiling reports, schedules and conducting research
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Participate as a support role on special projects

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of strong general ledger experience
  • Must be results-oriented, able to manage timelines and proactively communicate to various team members
  • Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and drive to deliver high-quality work
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and collaborative work environment
  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP is needed
  • Experience in the financial services industry a plus
