Provide high technical level for Mainframe Operating System Support. Maintain and manage all aspects of activities to support operating systems, mainframe network configurations, CICS/MQ subsystems, storage and backup subsystems in Mainframe Host. Manage activities to refresh, test and implement updates for IBM and third part vendor software on a regular basis. Provide system programming support for developers that require assistance in mainframe programming, CICS online systems, or batch subsystems. Provide support and problem resolution for the most complex and difficult areas of assigned system which includes mainframe operating systems Assume complete responsibility for the development and/or implementation of the most complex software/hardware projects. Provide highly technical support, training and assistance to developers or junior members of the team and Operating System users.
Major Responsibilities:

Performs work that is complex and varied in nature. Defines and discerns key aspects of a problem and develops an integrated solution within a broad technical and business context of significant impact. May provide guidance/training to more junior staff.
Responsible for installation, implementation and maintenance of zSeries Hardware, IBM Operating System software, program products, and OEM program products or ESS system. Provide plans and procedures for installation, testing, and implementation of system software and program products. Prepare change notification and documentation for system software. Provide education for end users of system software. Coordinate efforts with other personnel.
Provide similar functions in CICS/MQ subsystems, storage subsystems and batch interface subsystems.
Provide software/hardware evaluations which would be of benefit to the Bank, its personnel and its customers. Prepare cost/benefit analysis.
Provide an interface between hardware and software vendors for product evaluation, installation, diagnosis and other situations. Provide guidance to vendors, as well as provide an interface among multiple vendors. Maintain good working relationships with vendors and support personnel.
Keep informed of new developments in data processing. Seek additional training and development courses. Stay in touch with peers and end users. Provide foresight and direction for the Service Centers.
Participate in an on-call rotation.
Provide hardware and software problem determination and resolution. Ensure that the highest quality, most effective and efficient level of service is provided to end users.
Provide the means to ensure the safety and integrity of valid system data. Maintain backup and recovery procedures necessary to provide system, program, and data integrity.
Additional Information
Position typically requires a four-year college degree (e.g., B.A., B.S.) plus 7 years of technical experience in mainframe or Tandem systems programming with excellent understanding of online subsystems, Operating systems and a good command of mainframe host based TCP/IP technologies.

Qualifications
15+ years MVS systems programming experience in a multi-system environment.
Job requires in-depth experience with parallel sysplex, coupling facility, I/O gens, HCM & HCD, z/OS, JES2, GRS, CA1, CA7, and CA11.
In-depth understanding of mainframe storage technology (EMC), including replication technologies.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $143K - $165K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
