The Opportunity: We're seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Software Engineer with excellent UI experience. You will be leading and building out our design system that will be used across the whole Syncro Application suite. You will drive the development and maintenance of our internal design system built on MUI, partner with our design team to drive improvements, work with the broader engineering team on how to use, contribute and improve the design system and implement within the platform.  

What You’ll Be Doing:

• You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our core component library ensuring consistency and accessibility across our products.
• Collaborate closely with designers to implement and refine UI components based on design specifications in Figma.
• Help advocate for and evangelize the use of the design system to promote efficiency and consistency.
• Participate in design and code reviews and provide feedback to ensure consistency and  maintainability.

Must have skills:

• Experience building and maintaining component libraries using React and MUI.
• Deep understanding of design principles, UI patterns, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Proficiency in using Figma for inspecting designs and collaborating with designers.
• Understanding of tokenization and theming within design systems.
• Familiarity with Storybook and best practices for documenting design system components and guidelines.
• Experience with automated testing for UI components using RTL and Chromatic.
• Experience with working with npm, monorepos, and git.
• Experience advocating for and evangelizing the use of the design system within an organization.
• Comfortable working in a remote setting
• You care -- which means sometimes putting yourself out there for a customer or a fellow colleagues

Nice to have skills:

• Familiarity with build tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building components using TypeScript.
• Experience with performance optimization of UI components.
• Understanding of front-end architecture and best practices for building large-scale applications.
