POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a Corporate Quality Assurance Senior Expert position supporting supplier performance for zone North America (NA). You will provide mentoring, leadership, and support for all Quality aspects within our manufacturing and vendor operations with technical expertise and support to factories and other functions ensuring:
•    Compliance to regulatory requirements, Nestle policies, product quality, and food safety aspects of manufacturing.
•    Reduction of defects (e.g. Consumer complaints, Foreign Bodies, chemical contaminants) 
•    Cross-functional networking internal (e.g. USA procurement, Nestrade, COQM) and external to Nestlé across OpCos
•    Effective use of TPM, Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE) and Quality tools to understand trends to develop plans that drive continuous improvement and achieve business objectives. 
 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    You will collaborate with TPM support pillars, other functions, and factories (using TPM methodology and tools) to develop and execute action plans to drive reduction and elimination of waste related to defects, scrap, and rework.
2.    You will build leadership, technical skills, and capability in factory Quality Assurance Managers at both Nestle factories and vendors to ensure autonomy.
3.    You will support factories and vendors with management and maintenance of the quality assurance systems in compliance with Nestle policies, Regulatory and Customer Requirements. 
4.    You will collaborate with the other functions to drive improvements at ingredient and packaging suppliers to reduce raw material defects and improve vendor performance.
5.    You will support Factories and Supply Chain to ensure finished product management.
6.    You will support customer complaint resolution with factories.
7.    You will request support as needed from other functions to achieve business objectives.
8.    You will assist in product recalls or withdrawals. 
9.    Travel required – approximately 60%

 

REQUIRIMENTS & MINIMUM EDUCATION:
•    BS / BA degree in Food Science / Food Technology or related technical fields 

 

EXPERIENCE:
 •   Minimum of 10 years in food manufacturing operations, with at least be 3 – 5 years as Factory QA Manager experience.

 

SKILLS:
•    Have strong knowledge and understanding of food safety / HACCP, GMP’s, Allergen Controls, Sanitary design/controls, pest control, basic food regulations, specifications, and basic food technology.
•    Thrive working in a dynamic environment with minimal direct supervision and have strong leadership, social, and self-initiative skills.
•    Be agile to quickly learn new food processing technologies and resolve critical food safety aspects alone or through consultation with internal / external authorities as appropriate.
•    Strong verbal / written communications, analytical and problem-solving skills. Be detailed and results oriented. Statistical analysis experience is helpful.
•    TPM/Q-Pillar
•    Experience with SAP and Intelex software preferred.
•    ISO22000 and/or FSSC22000 and ISO9001 trained.
•    Project management skills preferred 
•    PC proficiency in Windows-based applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

The approximate pay range for this position is $135,000 to $176,000.  Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
