In this global role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the go-to-market strategy and execution for Illumio’s products and solutions as they relate to the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) vertical. You will serve as the subject matter expert for this vertical and be responsible for developing messaging & positioning, use cases, target personas and sales plays that will anchor the go-to-market strategy to grow product adoption, build pipeline and improve customer retention in this key industry.

Every day you will be part of a team responsible for developing positioning and differentiated messaging, defining go to market strategy, launching new solutions and driving thought leadership for the Illumio solutions. 

To thrive in this global role, you must understand the BFSI vertical, its key cyber security needs and challenges, and associated local and global compliance / regulatory requirements. You must also have an appreciation of relevant technology, market drivers, competition, and customer needs. You will have responsibility of communicating product messaging and value to internal and external audiences, and, of creating compelling offers to generate demand, drive adoption and the overall success of the Illumio product line within the BFSI vertical.

  • Industry Marketing: Appreciating the cyber security challenges of Illumio's focus verticals and aligning our offering to their needs.
  • Technical Alliances: Positioning alliances and use cases in the context of the Illumio Platform, enabling customers to achieve more value from their Illumio investment.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Understanding our competitors' advantages and weaknesses, so that we are always able to engage prospects from a position of strength.
  • Analyst Relations: Influencing the influencers to shape the market, its needs and best practice to align with our view, and leveraging key analyst insights to help inform our business strategy and product functionality roadmaps.
  • Value Advisory: Advising and articulating the economics of Illumio’s solutions for our clients, and how we deliver value and ROI across various industries. 

Your Impact: 

  • Storytelling - Develop product positioning, value proposition and messaging that aligns Illumio’s offerings to the key needs of the BFSI market.   
  • Sales enablement – Communicate value propositions to sales teams and develop sales materials and tools that support the selling process. 
  • Market intelligence – know the needs of our customers and prospects and be a knowledgeable authority on our competition with the ability to articulate value and differentiate our solutions, especially as these relate to the BFSI vertical. 
  • Demand generation activities - Partner in demand generation activities with Marketing teams to build and execute campaigns that focus on generating pipeline in the BFSI vertical.
  • Cross-Departmental collaboration – Accomplish the above by having a constant communication flow with internal groups, including Marketing, Product Management, Sales, Enablement and the office of the CTO. 
  • Asset development - written collateral, presentations, solution/demo videos, social media activities, trade show sessions.

Your Toolkit:

  • 6+ years of marketing experience, with 3+ years of product / solutions marketing experience in cyber security.
  • Must be familiar with key cyber security, ICT risk management, and cyber resilience needs of the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance sector – particularly key local and global regulatory and compliance requirements. Professional experience of working at organisations in these sectors is preferred.
  • Experience developing messaging, positioning and delivering sales/partner enablement activities for cyber security products 
  • Experience of presenting to audiences of all sizes, both internal and external facing
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, project management and time management ability with a deadline focus 
  • Emotional intelligence to navigate ambiguity, take initiative and work collaboratively to deliver insights, provide solutions to challenges and recommendations based on analysis 
  • Strong right brain, left brain balance — analytical + creative 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Pro-active and driven to solve problems and find innovative solutions 
  • A profound sense of ownership and accountability is required 
  • Strong acumen about new technologies and commercial acumen in the software industry 
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to forge and maintain relationships. 
  • Exceptional communication skills including the ability to influence, guide, and work with senior executives to achieve joint objectives 
  • Experience of working in collaboration with a diverse range of business functions and customers to drive change and achieve delivery 
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and attention to detail to deliver high quality output
