Sr Release Engineer

Remote - FL, United States

The Senior Release Engineer analyzes trouble-shoots release and deployment issues; participates in deployment of software applications and works with other stakeholders to implement deployment automation and CICD initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with Application Development, Infrastructure, and DevOps teams to define and implement deployment automation and CICD initiatives.
  • Participate in release and deployment activities of software packages and builds.
  • Analyzes, identifies, troubleshoots build & deployment errors and CICD pipeline issues.
  • Conducts root cause analysis and works with appropriate parties to remedy issues.
  • Identifies and propagates best practices and processes related to software release and deployment, CICD and DevOps.
  • Maintains documentation & knowledge transfer documents of deployment best practices.
  • Additional duties as assigned or necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise applications with cloud technologies (i.e., AWS, Azure, etc.) and Operating Systems (i.e., Windows, Linux, etc.).
  • Working experience in scripting languages (i.e., Python, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Proven experience in software version control and CICD Tools such as GIT, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
  • Knowledgeable in best practices and processes related to software release and deployment, CICD and DevOps.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science/ engineering or related field
  • Knowledge and experience using GIT and GITHUB Actions, DevOps tool chain
  • Demonstrated experience in Cloud technologies (AWS/Azure) CICD, DevOps, Agile software development, Deployment and Release management.
  • Knowledge and experience in container orchestration systems for automating software deployments such as Kubernetes.
