Hi there!
My name is Geo, and I'm the VP of Product at Zapier. We've recently hired Jenica, the new 'Director of Product for Enterprise,' and I'm assisting her in onboarding and building her team. At Zapier, we like to share our README's. I am sharing my README with you so you can get to know me better. I recognize that as much as we're interviewing you, you are also interviewing us! Jenica is sharing this tradition and has provided her README so you can see what it would look like to be a part of her team.
We're looking for a Sr. Product Manager to join our team to support our our Enterprise product within the Identity Platform team.
Our philosophy for hiring
About You
This isn't your first PM rodeo. You have Identity and enterprise-scale expertise. You have 5+ years of experience as a platform product manager, ideally within Identity and Access Management (IAM), authentication, SSO, RBAC, SCIM, user provisioning, or compliance-driven platforms. You understand the technical and regulatory complexity of managing Identity at scale.
You are customer-obsessed. You focus on delivering the best authentication and access experiences for both internal teams and enterprise customers. You proactively engage with users, identifying their needs and ensuring our Identity Platform meets them with speed and reliability.
You move fast and default to action. You break down large, complex challenges into milestones and iterative releases, driving rapid progress while balancing long-term strategic goals. You excel at making high-velocity decisions without sacrificing quality.
You are highly technical. You understand the architecture of authentication, security protocols, and access control models and can work closely with engineers to deliver scalable solutions. You can translate technical work for non-technical stakeholders and ensure engineering is prioritizing work that delivers the most value to customers.
You break down big projects into milestones. You can turn high-level strategy into an actionable roadmap, breaking down large, technical projects into clear phases that balance near-term execution with long-term scalability.
You thrive in a cross-functional environment. You partner closely with engineering, design, UX research, and data teams to build Identity solutions that work across Zapier’s entire ecosystem. You align Identity strategy with broader enterprise needs, balancing security, compliance, and user experience.
You balance security, compliance, and usability. You know how to design secure, scalable, and seamless authentication flows that improve user experience without compromising security. You’ve worked with enterprise customers and understand IAM best practices, regulatory requirements, and integration needs.
You are data-driven. You use data to inform decisions, define success, and iterate quickly. You understand authentication metrics, security risks, and adoption trends, and you use these insights to drive Identity improvements.
You are a strong communicator. You clearly articulate Identity platform goals, technical trade-offs, and long-term strategies across the company, ensuring alignment between product, engineering, and customer-facing teams.
Things You’ll Do
Communicate a vision for the team looking out 3-12 months and build a roadmap to match that vision
Work in a small, empowered, cross-functional team alongside design, engineering, UX research, and data to decide what we build next and execute on that decision
Talk with our customers and stakeholders to more deeply understand the problems that we can address for them
Work closely with engineers and data analysts on solutions by writing specs and creating documentation
Develop a sufficient understanding of technical context to help make better, faster decisions, and work closely with engineers on solutions
Dig deep on data to understand trends and develop a better picture of the business, the product, or our customers.
Measure and report on the results of your work
How to Apply
At Zapier, we believe that diverse perspectives and experiences make us better, which is why we have a non-standard application process designed to promote inclusion and equity. We're looking for the best fit for each of our roles, regardless of the type of companies in your background, so we encourage you to apply even if your skills and experiences don’t exactly match the job description. All we ask is that you answer a few in-depth questions in our application that would typically be asked at the start of an interview process. This helps speed things up by letting us get to know you and your skillset a bit better right out of the gate. Please be sure to answer each question; the resume and CV fields are optional.
Education is not a requirement for our roles; however, if you receive an offer, you will need to include your most recent educational experience as part of our background check process.
After you apply, you are going to hear back from us—even if we don’t see an immediate fit with our team. In fact, throughout the process, we strive to never go more than seven days without letting you know the status of your application. We know we’ll make mistakes from time to time, so if you ever have questions about where you stand or about the process, just ask your recruiter!
Zapier is an equal-opportunity employer and we're excited to work with talented and empathetic people of all identities. Our code of conduct provides a beacon for the kind of company we strive to be, and we celebrate our differences because those differences are what allow us to make a product that serves a global user base. Zapier will consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, consistent with applicable laws.

If reasonable accommodations are needed to participate in the job application or interview process, please contact jobs@zapier.com.
Application Deadline:
The anticipated application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later, or if the position is filled.
Even though we’re an all-remote company, we still need to be thoughtful about where we have Zapiens working. Check out this resource for a list of countries where we currently cannot have Zapiens permanently working.
