Sr. Product Development Analyst

As the Sr Product Development Analyst for the Specialty Property Line of Business, you will utilize strategic analysis of market trends and business opportunities to support our Manufactured Housing and Classic Car products. In addition, maintain Assurant’s current products, which lead to growth and profits consistent with the Company’s future strategic plan.

 

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? 

  • Ensure the integrity of existing products by serving as a team member on channel-driven product enhancement projects.

  • Assist in researching business ideas and market opportunities or trends that lead to new product ideas. Develop analysis of the financial potential of new product ideas.

  • Understand rate making and product costs (direct and indirect) in analyzing future actions at a state level and rate-making exercises.

  • Define and develop new product features and market positioning based on customer needs and competitive environment.

  • Develop quality standards, administration, policy language, and pricing for new products.

  • Manage and direct internal resources and external vendors to effectively implement new products.

  • Analyze testing of new products and existing product enhancements to ensure the product maintains positioning and profitability.


What are the requirements needed for this position? 

  • A minimum of 3 years of related experience in the product management function or similar roles leveraging analytical skills.

  • Level of knowledge ordinarily acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Must have a strong understanding of the Property Casualty Insurance Industry, such as coverages and products.

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and SQL expertise.  

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have? 

  • P & C Insurance Institute Designation, such as AINS, CPCU, ARM, etc., or license.

  • Knowledge of multiple aspects of business (finance, marketing, operations, HR, technology, legal, etc.).

  • Strong project management and analytical skills. Ability to analyze rates and policy language.

  • Strong decision-making ability.

  • Understand business strategy and be able to provide action plans and strategies to achieve better results.

Pay Range:

$71,300.00 - $119,100.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
