Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis, require employees to live within a commutable distance and, since business needs vary by position and may change over time, managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.

Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary

This position is in the  Utility Operations Technology organization which has responsibility the support of Engineering, Compliance, Asset Planning, Asset Performance and Asset Reliability systems within the Electric and Gas Utility. In this role you will manage large  high-profile products/projects that have multiple dependencies with existing enterprise and Operational Technology Systems requiring  collaboration with other departments within the Utility and IT organizations. To be successful in this role, sound knowledge of business processes in the area of Project and Portfolio Management, Software Development Lifecycles (ex. Waterfall, Agile, etc..), Project Management Methodologies, Utility Operations, Utility Asset Management, Utility Planning will be required. This position is responsible for managing activities related to project and portfolio metrics and tracking and the support of technology solutions which will empower the business to maximize Safety, Asset Reliability, and Key Utility KPIs. In that capacity, this position is responsible for the following:
- Directly engages with Business Stakeholders to drive Support and the Adoption of the New technology solutions with the express intent on improving Asset Management, Asset Reliability and Asset Planning.
- Monitoring projects and overseeing project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time and budget.
- Meeting with stakeholders to discuss program, product and project goals, status and risk/issue management.
- Ensure continuous improvement to products within assigned portfolio in accordance to IT Policy and Business Practices.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with IT Group Product Managers and Supervisors as well as Utility Stakeholders on a day-to-day support of project and portfolio management practices, processes and tools.
  • Manage and supervise a team of technical associates, engineers and or analytics to support a portfolio of products.
  • Manage and maintain a product backlog for planned improvements to products within the portfolio of assets.
  • Ensure Operational Excellence of technology products in accordance to established standards and practices within PSEG IT that enable Utility Business Stakeholders to maximize Asset Management, Asset Reliability and Strategy.
  • Agile adoption and application of new technologies in addressing customer needs.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Business Stakeholders rooted in solving Utility Operational and Planning challenges using products within a portfolio.
  • Work with vendors to ensure scope, cost and deliverables are met according to the established contracts.
  • Create and maintain portfolio-wide dashboard comprising all planned, active and closed projects, product backlog user stories/features enabling quantitative and qualitative analysis and reporting of the portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth technical and business knowledge of the portfolio and project management.
  • processes to ensure efficient design, programming, testing and implementation of recommended solutions. Maintain currency is designated technology and functional areas including upcoming enhancements and industry trends.
  • Drive, manage, monitor and report the timely delivery of product/project/program milestones and feature requests.
  • Demonstrating value realization of the product/program by providing tangible results, monitoring risks to delivery, tracking value-added and resolving issues.
  • Communicate product &project risk/issue resolution and dependencies across projects to LOB and IT Senior Management.

Job Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field and 8 years of relevant experience in the technology field; in lieu of a degree, 10 years of relevant experience in the technology field may be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience implementing and deploying large scale IT applications.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership position.
  • Demonstrated success in customer facing technology product management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing technology project initiatives and product management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Utility Operations and Planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities through projects or other work planning experiences.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in IT project management methodologies, requirement management, quality assurance and IT processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of the business area’s functions and applications, and of system and technology alternatives.
  • Demonstrated experience managing outsourced vendors (on and off shore) within the information technology field.
  • Experience with Industry Leading Operational Technology Platforms for use in Asset Health, Asset Management and Operational Management.
  • Understanding and experience in management of database systems such as Oracle, AWS, SQL,  ectand other technologies and tools that support Integration and ETL Technologiesactivities.
  • Understanding of Resource Management concepts.
  • Understanding of IT Financial Management concepts (GAAP, CapEx, Opex, Cloud computing arrangements, etc.).
  • Ability to create senior level presentations via various mediums strong oral and written communication skills.
