Sr Mechanical Engineer – Design/Fabrication

The Opportunity:
CACI is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support design and model-making activities at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) Model Shop to provide mechanical/manufacturing engineering support. This position will require on-site support in Bethesda, MD as required.
Responsibilities:
- Support model shop activities to design and build scale models of Navy ships/subs for testing.
- Interface with technical code engineers to refine technical and functional requirements of models.
- Design parts according to customer requirements, accounting for specific material properties (eg metals, fiberglass, etc)
- Design assemblies to integrate parts into functional models.
- Interface with model shop workers (model makers, machinists, welders, engineers) to advise and coordinate model assembly.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- 10+ years of experience with design/engineering in manufacturing environments
- 15+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering Experience collaborating with a diverse range of roles across the manufacturing process
- Experience designing parts for assembly in CAD software
- Experience designing for various materials, such as metals fiberglass
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
Desired:
- Experience with Rhino3D and Autodesk
- Experience with project management, including cost estimates and project status

The proposed salary range for this position is:
