Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to join McAfee as a Senior Manager of User Experience Design, where you will actively contribute as both an individual contributor and a team leader. This player-coach role offers the chance to directly design impactful solutions while mentoring a team of talented designers, ensuring the delivery of exceptional user experiences.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing, to shape user-centered designs that reflect McAfee's commitment to personal security. Your contributions will help redefine our products as we transition to a human-centered, consumer-first approach, impacting millions of users worldwide.

This is a remote role based in the United States with a location preference on the West Coast and Bay Area. We are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

About the role:

• Hands-On Design: Actively contribute to the design process by creating concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and polished designs for key projects.

• Team Leadership: Guide and mentor designers to ensure high-quality work and professional growth. Act as a role model by demonstrating design best practices and championing user-centered design principles.

• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing, to align on goals, prioritize tasks, and deliver exceptional user experiences.

• User Advocacy: Advocate for user needs by conducting or leveraging user research and data, ensuring design decisions are informed and aligned with user expectations.

• Design Systems: Support the evolution of McAfee’s design systems, promoting scalability, consistency, and efficiency across teams and products.

• Problem-Solving: Tackle complex design challenges with innovative solutions that enhance usability and satisfaction while meeting business objectives.

About you:

• 8+ years of experience in product design or UX, with a proven track record of delivering impactful designs.

• Experience managing or mentoring design teams, with a focus on cultivating talent and fostering collaboration.

• Strong skills in interaction design, visual design, and usability principles.

• Experience working cross-functionally to align design strategies with product and business goals.

• Portfolio: A portfolio, website, or other relevant link showcasing your work is required (please provide a viewable link and/or access instructions).

• Experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization, with the ability to navigate and influence diverse stakeholders preferred

• Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience preferred
