About the Role:
The Sr Manager, Environmental and Sustainability, is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading all aspects of the environmental program. This includes air emissions, waste management, and offering technical expertise on projects.
You Will:
- Manage environmental regulatory compliance (CAA, CWA, RCRA, EPCRA, SWPPP, SPCC) and sustainability performance (energy/water/waste resource reduction and efficiency) programs in alignment with regulatory requirements
- Implement Environmental Initiatives across the company
- Identify the waste stream for all new Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API’s)
- Be responsible for developing and implementing Environmental training programs
- Be the owner of new builds, retrofits, and acquisitions to ensure environmental protection and compliance through each cycle
- Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of sustainability projects and initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability initiatives into business operations
- Be responsible for compliance to Tier II reporting
- Identify and implement key KPIs
- Build robust reporting mechanisms to track environmental compliance activities
- Partner with Project Managers and Engineering
- Be the liaison for Operations for all environmental regulatory visits
- Respond to regulatory inquiries
- Work with on-site pharmacy and lab teams to ensure adherence to all EPA regulations
You Have:
- BS/BA degree in Environmental or related field
- 10+ years of Experience leading Environmental Operations
- Experience leading environmental compliance in a multi-site environment
- Experience working with US Pharmacopeia (USP) reference standards
- Strong experience leading Hazardous Waste programs
- Experience with implementing environmental policies in lab/compounding environment (preferred)
- Proficient at Google Docs, Google Slides, etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel at least 30% of the time

Conditions of Employment:
- This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves, respiratory protection, gown and other items as required.
- This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
- Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Due to the risk of reproductive capability in handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD) associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects) of handling hazardous drugs.

The actual amount will take into account a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and location.
