Job Description

Brief Description

The Sr. Manager, Omnichannel Data Strategy reports into the Director, Data Strategy and Management (within Business Operations and Analytics). This position is accountable for defining the Omnichannel data acquisition and enablement strategy required to support BOA commercial and medical data-related needs. This person will serve as the internal expert on Omnichannel data sources and solutions for all Business Units. This work will require collaboration and multi-functional leadership with many partners, including other data teams, Analytics & Insights, IS, medical, Field Analytics and Operations, and commercial teams.

The position is part of Business Operations and will be responsible for external and internal data strategy, management and information systems in support of the US organization. In addition, the position will provide expertise with secondary data sources and be able to identify potential data sources to inform decision making with cross functional partners (New Product Planning, Corporate Development etc.) The role will be closely aligned to Commercial IS to own data acquisition and ingestion, maintain, and enhance data quality, structure the data for business consumption, and commercial systems management. The ability to independently manage multiple deliverables and shifting priorities with strong skills in project management, collaboration, decision making, and communication will be key to success.

Success will be determined by the individual’s ability to demonstrate exceptional communication, planning, strategy, program management, and organizational skills, with the ability to successfully drive multiple concurrent initiatives. The individual must be a strong leader with skills to influence without authority as well as consistently seeking to improve solutions and services.

Essential Functions

Data Strategy:

  • Develop Scalable Strategies and oversee execution for:
    • Omnichannel Data Portfolio Management and Innovation
    • External Data Assessment and Acquisition
    • Commercial Value Measurement by connecting omnichannel data with real world data (RWD) for impact
    • Omnichannel data operationalization:  Digital, Marketing, and Social Media Data

Data Management (Internal and External):

  • Management and oversight of the Omnichannel Development Operations team
  • Collaborate with commercial, brand, and other functional areas to identify data sources needed to support brands, enable reporting on key metrics and inform business decision
  • Responsible for all internal and external data sources.  Identify and evaluate third party data sources (e.g., SHA, IMS, HMS, MMIT, IQVIA, 3rd Party media offerings etc.) to identify most appropriate data required to support and inform business decisions.
  • Manage relationship with third party data vendors
  • Develop Data Governance to ensure that reporting, storage, and handling of data sources meet compliance requirements

Data Integration & Analysis

  • Partner with IS to ingest, standardize, and store data across all data feeds (internal and third party)
  • Develop request management process (system) to prioritize and respond to data inquiries in alignment with business needs
  • Oversee the analysis of claims data, including the application of business rules using queries, coding and analytics business intelligence tools
  • Manage third party vendors for Development and Operations enhancements
     

Information Systems

  • Working knowledge and understanding of technology systems such as AWS, Redshift, Informatica, Salesforce Health Cloud and Marketing Cloud.
  • Experience in leveraging tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, and TOAD.

Partner with the Commercial IS:

  • Set the strategy to improve efficiencies and enable enhanced capabilities to deliver advancement in business analytics, sales force effectiveness, and information management
  • Serve as the Commercial lead to collaboratively design, develop, implement, and support new business analytics and operations capabilities
  • Deliver scalable solutions that integrate within the Commercial technology and processes ecosystem; ability to have a broad perspective and consider implications beyond the explicit requirements

  • Manage multiple projects and deliver consistently to the expectations of different stakeholders
  • Build strong partnerships and relationships, across the organization and externally, that lead to the highest levels of collaboration and effectiveness
  • Demonstrate the ability to influence multiple stakeholders to ensure a high-level of team involvement in key business decisions while working effectively with business partners
     

Required/Preferred Experiences and Skills

  • Experience with commercial pharmaceutical data, systems and platforms, business analytics solutions, data warehouse and reporting, and master data management
  • Strong commercial business, data, and technology acumen
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, influence, change management and consensus building skills
  • Pharmaceutical Data Management and Governance experience required
  • Omnichannel data knowledge required: Pharmaceutical marketing or digital data
  • Meticulous, highly organized, and self-directed approach to work, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing tasks in time-constrained situations
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, Veeva, and MDM is a plus with coding skills using SQL, R, or Python
  • 6+ years in pharmaceutical data management or strategy, sales analytics, data operations, and/or commercial IT, preferably in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry

  • Bachelor’s Degree: MBA preferred or applicable previous experience

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the full and complete base pay range is:

$140,000.00 - $210,000.00

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.

At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz’s Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
