Sr. Manager, Business Development-Organics (Remote) - United States
I. Job Summary
Directs the development of the business development strategic plans consistent with established corporate strategic plans, and ensures their proper execution. This business development position is responsible for the development of biosolids management solutions by employing both traditional and next generation organics processing technologies. Supports the sales efforts of WM’s sales organizations through the development of new biosolids processing facilities.
II. Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned.
- Develops and implements business development operating plan, consistent with the accomplishment of long range established objectives which will enhance operating unit effectiveness and delineate responsibilities and authority.
- Manages the research and analysis of business opportunities, assessing potential markets and developing projects for use in new development initiatives. Track and document WWTP market information, including volumes, pricing, current contract terms, bid and RFP activity and results, competitors, and market trends.
- Evaluates projects through financial feasibility studies, market research and planning. Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to complete initial financial and technical feasibility for prospective biosolids facilities.
- Fosters and builds partnerships and relationships with Biosolids management companies and consultants to source volume, develop facilities and expand market share. Identifies businesses that may be strong acquisitions candidates to expand WM’s biosolids business.
- Reviews and evaluates the total business development function performance on a continuing basis and establishes proper measures of performance.
