A Senior Director of Transportation and Logistics Services is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the transportation and logistics operations within the organization. This role involves strategic planning, execution, and management of logistics functions to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods and services. The Senior Director will lead a team of professionals, drive operational improvements, and collaborate with other departments to enhance overall supply chain performance.

You Will:

  • Develop and implement transportation and logistics strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Monitor industry trends and advancements to enhance operational effectiveness
  • Experience leading Carrier negotiations with rates and terms
  • Oversee daily transportation and logistics operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies
  • Optimize supply chain processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of logistics and transportation professionals
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Prepare and manage the department budget, ensuring financial targets are met
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement effective measures
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including procurement, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, suppliers, and carriers
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve service levels
