Job Summary:

Labcorp is seeking a passionate and results-oriented Senior Director of HR Tech to drive digital transformation by defining and delivering the Workday HR technology strategy and next generation of technology capabilities that enable Labcorp’s long-term success and a consumer-grade experience for all employees. This role is part strategy / part execution, focused on coupling the innovation blueprint with an actionable roadmap from conception to launch through continual improvement. In this role you will interact, inform, and influence at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership. As player/coach, you'll be part technical SME, part visionary and part product-mastermind, with a passion for creating well-designed, integrated, user-friendly solutions. You will lead the Workday team to define the capabilities needed to transform our team member experience, and develop, implement, and lead the Workday portion of the HR technology strategy. The Sr Director, HR Tech will develop strong partnerships with HR Centers of Excellence and HR Leaders to maximize the use of Labcorp’s Workday technology, streamline HR operations, and elevate every system interaction with HR Tech applications. You will build a high-performing team by leading, coaching and developing the Workday team to promote innovation, be data driven, frame options, be trusted partners, and deliver through a product mind-set, focusing on the needs of the customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide thought leadership on HR technology solutions and strategies for new programs, projects and enhancements to existing solutions. 

  • Analyze and interpret complex data to inform strategic decisions, mitigate enterprise risk, drive operational efficiency, and maximize ROI.

  • In conjunction with the Executive Director, HR Tech, develop the evolving Workday technology strategy and long-term roadmap in support of the business needs with a focus on scale, automation and improving the team member experience.

  • Influence the future of work at Labcorp, as we envision how work is performed in a hybrid virtual and physical world across distinct business units around the globe.

  • Serve as the resident technical expert for all things Workday and provide decision-making authority on matters from architecture to security to data sharing, influencing company-wide policies and strategies for HR technology.

  • Develop rich, influential, and trusted partnerships with the various teams across the organization (HRBPs, COEs, IT, Finance, Legal).

  • Participate as SME on HR Advisory Council representing core HR tech platforms to achieve optimal outcomes in prioritization, strategic direction, and tradeoff decision making.

  • Partner with Information Technology to deliver products and services through a cost-effective HR Tech infrastructure.

  • Evaluate new HR systems for fit into the larger Workday technology architecture to ensure integration is seamless, secure, scalable, supports the right data architecture, and meets the minimum technical and compliance standards (i.e., data privacy, platform security).

  • Translate business objectives into supporting initiatives through clearly defining scope, deliverables, resources, and success measures.

  • Play a “hands on” role in ensuring projects and corresponding change management is delivered on time and on budget, with compliance, useability, and quality.

  • Owns the development, implementation, and ongoing governance of our Workday system related audit processes and controls.

  • Provide daily coaching, management, and leadership, ensuring the team is working effectively and in a way that empowers each team member to perform at their best.

  • Ensure Workday system configuration is optimized, business processes are efficient, and the user experience is world class across HR, Payroll, Benefits, Absence, Compensation, Talent, Advanced Compensation, Employee and Manager Self Service, and Time and Attendance. Review the efficacy and relevance of HR systems and recommend modifications as part of HR Tech Governance.

  • Develop quality program with metrics to gauge effectiveness of HR technologies and processes; identify opportunities to streamline and standardize workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and ensure legal compliance.

  • Leverage extensive knowledge of HR Tech landscape, market dynamics, vendors, and products to evaluate and lead integration of new technologies, additional Workday SKUs and/or manage additional HR tech platforms such as ServiceNow for HR as the landscape evolves to a more centralized model

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • At least 15 years of relevant work experience within HR, including leading the HRIS function and teams (10+ years of Workday expertise required)

  • B.A. or B.S. or Advanced Degree in Computer Science, HR, Business, Information Systems or similar discipline

  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing HR Technology strategies, systems, and applications.

  • $5M+ annual vendor spend management, global HR data management, complex project management and people management for large teams of on-shore, off-shore, and contingent resources.

  • Must have experience leading M&A activity in the Workday environment.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience scaling systems in a fast paced and changing environment and ability perform ongoing prioritization to align organization and department initiatives.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and flexible in adapting and responding to changing situations.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple, conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Outstanding and obsession with service orientation; sense of urgency and follow-up and responsiveness; high-level of personal integrity and confidentiality.

  • Experience leading solutions teams and collaborating across business and technical functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Workday PRO certifications preferred

  • Six Sigma / LEAN certification

  • Certified Scrum master

  • PMP Certification

Pay Range: $200,000+ base pay plus bonus

Hours 8am to 5pm
