The Senior Director-Commercial & Private Bank Data & Analytics is responsible for the overall strategy related to data and analytics for the Commercial & Private Bank. This role will partner with internal technology and data teams to create sources of robust data which will feed tools such as Salesforce to enable teams to maximize effectiveness and productivity. Designs and develops effective data outputs for leadership that guide decision making and manage teams and processes.Pay Range: $195,132- $302,454- $338,228Pay Range: Local Minimum Wage - $0.00 - $0.00
Job Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategy and execution:
- Set and execute BI and analytics agenda in line with the Commercial & Private Bank’s goals and strategies.
- Integrate data into Salesforce dashboards for broad utilization.
- Utilize data for sales across the Commercial & Private Bank– Specialized Industries & Capital Markets, Corporate Banking & Regional Commercial Banking, Institutional Banking, Treasury Management, Payments & Deposit Strategies, Private Banking and Wealth.
- Utilize data for product development and accelerate strategic initiatives with data-driven approach.
- Design metrics for the Commercial & Private Bank based on outcomes; design outcome-oriented advanced analytics AI/ML solutions that fit within the confines of the enterprise; execute initiatives with energy and conviction.
- Foster technology partnerships:
- Create new data warehouse for Commercial & Private Banking.
- Partner with the technology organization to set frameworks, enhance foundational capabilities and provide thought leadership for innovation.
- Provide vision and support for BI and analytics infrastructure in the enterprise.
- Culture & people:
- Encourage a data-driven culture in the enterprise; initiate and/or provide support for change management as needed.
- Build a best-in-class BI & analytics team; hire, mentor and provide leadership to analysts.
- Change-agent, expert & trusted partner:
- Evaluate tools, technologies and partnerships as required to make informed decisions.
- Participate in discussions with the leadership and help shape strategies for the Community Bank; advise leadership on the art-of-the-possible.
- Aggressively learn and keep abreast of everchanging AI/ML field.
- Represent Flagstar in external forums as needed.
- Responsible for talent management functions including: employment, performance evaluations, staff development/training, disciplinary actions, succession planning and ensuring all staff comply with compliance requirements.
ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
- Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in business, analytics, or another related field.
- Minimum experience required: 15+ Years of progressive experience in financial services, large retail or related industries in data, technology, advanced analytics and business intelligence.
- Experience in applying Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to solid business outcomes, preferably in banking.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education level preferred: Master's Degree (or Postgraduate equivalent) in business, analytics, or another related field.
- Completion or progress towards certifications such as CTP, FRM, or CFA.
- Experience in evaluating/guiding enterprise tool selections preferred.
Job Competencies:
- Excellent knowledge of advanced analytics.
- Proven ability in leading analysts towards tangible results in a matrixed environment with ambiguous needs.
- Evidence of creative, out-of-the-box thinking that created competitive differentiation for the organization.
- Demonstrated ability in coming up with data-driven solutions that are customized for the situation.
- Knowledge and experience using BI tools, machine learning (preferably in a regulated, financial service setup).
- Demonstrated ability in driving solid outcomes with ML/AI and advanced analytics.
- Knowledge of retail and/or commercial banking.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Results oriented with a strong work ethic and sense of urgency.
- Personal values consistent with the corporate values of Flagstar.
- Knowledge of cloud computing tools on any of the major cloud platforms preferred.
- TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS (10% OF TIME SPENT AWAY FROM HOME OFFICE).
- Physical demands (ADA): The job requires a moderate degree of physical exertion and stamina such as standing, sitting, walking, driving or infrequent lifting.
