Sr. Cost Analyst

Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Cost Analyst. This role will provide Project Controls leadership and expertise to project controls managers, project managers, and business unit leadership on diverse projects ranging in scope from Pre-FEED, FEED, detail engineering, procurement, and construction to complex program management.
Responsibilities include:
- Interface with project stakeholders as a trusted advisor to provide guidance and recommendations.
- Responsible for cost analysis, monitoring/reporting project financial information, and status reports for the project controls manager, project manager, and clients.
- Maintain budgets, change orders, and variance logs.
- Manages project controls data and analytical processes (KPIs) used to predict and constructively influence the cost outcomes of a project or program.
- Develop and maintain project cost reports including evaluating actual and forecasted costs against budgets and detailed analysis.
- In-depth understanding of contracts to include LS, reimbursable, and NTE.
- Coordinate with scheduling counterparts to ensure seamless integration of cost and schedule via WBS/ CBS.
- Provide hands-on support to Project Managers and staff during the cost implementation phase.
- Develop a project-specific Project Controls Plan (PCP).
- Develop work processes and reporting that comply with a diverse variety of client cost control and accounting requirements and specifications.
- Client-facing individual with strong organization, analytical, and writing skills, including experience in writing functional and technical specifications, reports, and procedures.
- Creative and innovative with assignments, training, and personnel development.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in work style in response to supporting multiple and varied projects and initiatives in parallel.
- Able to develop and foster effective working relationships in a virtual team environment and balance workload between corporate activities and hands-on project support.
- Flexibility to travel as required to Brown and Caldwell and/or client offices/sites.
- Understanding of accounting GAAP rules and earned revenue recognition.
- Develop and maintain project cost reports including the evaluation of commitments, actuals, and forecasted costs against budgets and detailed analysis.
- Develop expenditure plans that align with the schedule.
- Understanding of basic scheduling fundamentals
- Participate in dashboard development and maintenance
- Able to interpret S-Curves for physical percent complete (EV and Commodity).
- Ability to apply Rules of Credit for engineering (calcs/specs/drawings)
- Produce variance analysis and trend logs.
- Generate client deliverables and communicate effectively in client meetings.
- Develop formal PowerPoint presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
