This BI Developer position will play a critical role in advancing the data strategy for the Institutional Annuities/Investments and Special Risk product lines by enhancing data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency. By collaborating closely with business stakeholders, they will ensure the development of accurate, actionable reporting solutions tailored to the needs of these specialized product lines. Their expertise in data management will help streamline data pipelines, ensure data quality, and support the integration of complex datasets, fostering a strong partnership across teams to achieve strategic objectives and drive business growth. This position will be apart of the Data Analytics and Reporting Team (DART) in the Emerging and Strategic Solutions division. The DART car includes 5 BI developers, soon to be 4 engineers and 3 BA/BSC’s under the ESS train.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications):  
    • Business Intelligence Developer: $70,000-$84,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
    • Sr. Business Intelligence Developer: $80,000-$94,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • Benefits and Perks, 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
  • Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2025, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2025, which is prorated based on the start date. Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2025 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Support and leads the development of holistic data products, including data discovery, data curation and semantic data model development, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and stakeholder requirements are met.
  • Effectively collaborates with stakeholders, IS partners, and team members to develop and validate requirements, ensure alignment of data product solutions with stakeholder needs and strategic goals, and secure necessary approvals.
  • Demonstrates strong decision-making and communication skills, advocating for change, optimizing processes, and contributing to the team’s success by supporting change initiatives that impact data product development process and/or solutions.
  • Abides by team standards for development including documentation, version control, validation, and automation.  Actively supports backup coverage and adapts to new ideas while encouraging others to embrace change.
  • Contributes to organizational goals by building scalable data solutions, supporting continuous learning, and aligning with the company’s mission, vision, and values to enhance customer experiences and drive innovation.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Proficient in core technical skills including SQL and Python with the ability to utilize these tools for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Strong expertise in SSRS and SSIS for reporting and ETL development.
  • Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and apply new technical skills, along with a track record of implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork and the ability to convey complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and capable of critical thinking, with a structured approach to problem-solving and an ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively.

  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Hands on experience and understanding of data modeling techniques (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema).
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Sigma or Qlik while scaling source to target solutions through data visualizations and machine learning applications.
  • Strong quantitative, statistical, data analysis and interpretative skills while applying SQL & Python technical processes to drive output solutions.
  • Background in designing and implementing data solutions in AWS & Snowflake.
  • Advanced Microsoft Word experience with mail merges, Table Design functions utilizing formulas, sorting, and custom layouts in tables.
  • Background in the creation and formatting of complex documents, including reports, manuals, proposals, and templates in Microsoft Word.
