The Issue Management Quality Control (IM QC) is a First Line of Defense (FLOD) shared services function within the Chief Data Office (CDO) that supports various FLOD business lines by providing independent assurance on the creation, updating, and closure of issues to ensure compliance to the Second Line of Defense (SLOD) US Santander Issue Management Standard.  

The Sr. Analyst joins a team that works to ensure that Santander Bank issue management program is complying to the relevant standards. The primary responsibility of the team is to build and execute a quality control and challenge function on Issue management (IM) within FLOD for Santander Bank.

Duties & Responsibilities: The Sr. Analyst will perform quality control testing to assess compliance to the Issue Management Standard. Specifically:

  • Knowledge of the financial services sector, particularly with the competitive dynamics and products in retail and commercial banking and risk management.

  • Understanding of the regulatory environment and how the risks of the products and services the bank offers are viewed by the Second Line of Defense and regulators.

  • Understanding of key us banking regulations, regulatory expectations, and industry leading practices.

  • Execute and document testing in a clear and concise manner that aligns to the team’s issue management quality control procedures and deadlines.

  • Communicate test results to the respective FLOD business lines in a professional and informative manner. 

  • Document corrective action plans and actively manage them in Jira until remediation is completed.

  • Ability to constructively work both independently and in collaborative environments involving all levels of management and employees.

  • Timely escalate matters to manager/supervisor for resolution.

  • Participate in special projects as directed by the FLOD QC Program Director.

  • Bachelor's Degree; Accounting, Business, Statistics, Risk Management, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, or equivalent field. (Required)

  • Master’s degree in accounting, Business, Statistics, Risk Management, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, or equivalent field. (Preferred)

  • 3-5 years; Risk Management, Internal Controls, Auditing, relevant line of business experience and/or legal or regulatory experience. 

Work Experience: 
Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Controls, Auditing, Credit Management, Product Management, US banking regulatory experience, business process testing, relevant line of business experience and/or legal or regulatory experience. 3-5 years (Required)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Understand complex business processes, risks, and controls in manual / automated environment.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to summarize and present complex information and issues succinctly for the required target audience.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in dynamic environment, which demands the ability to manage multiple, and often competing priorities.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with team members across the organization.

  • Ability to interact successfully with a variety of business partners across the organization including transaction banking, legal, compliance, technology, and operations, to ensure risks are mitigated and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. Occasional moving and lifting equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown. The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

$52,500.00 USD

Maximum:
