The Senior Associate Director, Global Medical Affairs Learning & Training Lead drives the global vision and strategy for the learning and development of non-customer facing medical affairs roles (non-CF) and supports a future-proof Medical Affairs function across the organization. The incumbent leads the implementation of the learning & development roadmap, supports relevant medical affairs documents within the IAP and manages respective global processes in a compliant and sustainable manner across the HP Regions/Corporate Functions.  The position holder considers the requirements of stakeholders in the changing healthcare landscape and the needs of the non-CF medical affairs roles in the HP Regions/Corporate Functions. This role collaborates with other pillar leads in Global Medical Affairs as well as respective capability owners in OneTeam, to ensure end-to-end alignment of the processes and trainings. This position ensures synchronization with MSL functional skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drives the vision and strategy for the development and training of non-CF medical affairs roles including standards, and performance metrics.
  • Evaluates current role performance and develops the strategic roadmap to realize the vision and business value.
  • Ensures alignment with customer needs, cross-functional user needs/priorities, as well as available budgets/FTEs.
  • Leads non-CF medical affairs roles to deliver on the strategic development roadmap and achieve meaningful progress on key milestones including enhancements to medical process, tools/platforms, and training.
  • Works in an agile collaborative manner in planning and executing on trainings/ deliverables in the development roadmap.
  • Manages ongoing internal relationships and contributes as a subject-matter expert (SME) in medical affair to other teams as assigned.
  • Evolves medical affairs documents that support the IAPs.
  • Defines, and maintains the core business processes for the non-CF medical affairs roles and ensures global alignment.
  • Identifies where local or functional exceptions/deviations are required while also ensuring that there is a consistency across R/OPUs and corporate functions.
  • Works with the non-CF as well as CF medical affairs community to champion/drive adoption of the processes and standards, as well as ensure the required training and change management tools are effectively managed and maintained.
  • Proactively identifies and promotes the sharing of best practices across the community of experts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master's degree required; Advanced science/clinical degree (PharmD, M.D., DNP, DO, Ph.D.), preferred.
  • Seven (7) years professional experience in a scientific, clinical, and/or medical space, including: five-plus (5+) years of prior Medical Affairs, MSL or related pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Experience leading training initiatives within the health care industry/Pharmaceutical or related industry.
  • Experience in strategic planning, execution and adult training and education.
  • Demonstrated ability to define business process, standards/metrics, implement technical tools/solutions, design training curriculum, manage data, all while ensuring customer, business and user requirements are achieved, compliance is assured and risks are managed/mitigated.
  • Builds business cases that include impact and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Medical Affairs on a (R)OPU and/or corporate level with in-depth knowledge of the processes and standards in Medical Affairs, especially in medical non-customer facing roles.
  • Candidate demonstrates strong leadership skills including the ability to successfully lead and coach global cross-functional teams, influence and collaborate with peers and cross-functional partners, drive global alignments, and achieve meaningful outcomes including creating business impact through others.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage competing priorities; work with agile mindset/methods/tools; as well as manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to develop assets.
  • Willingness and demonstrated success of effectively acting through influence without formal authority in a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated patient focus with knowledge of the global healthcare environment & understanding of how Medical Affairs efforts can optimally support business goals.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required. Business acumen and able to communicate impactfully.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Compensation

This position offers a base salary typically between $140,000 and $222,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance- based bonus and or other compensation elements.  For an overview of our benefits please click here.
