The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller to lead the accounting operations at PicnicHealth. We’re looking for a hands-on leader who actively oversees day-to-day operations with a small, dedicated accounting team. The appropriate level and title will be determined based on your experience. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Accounting Leadership: Oversee AR/AP, payroll, GL management, revenue recognition, treasury, and tax functions.
• Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure audit readiness, tax compliance, and regulatory adherence. Maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risks. Oversee external audits and tax filings.
• Revenue Recognition: Implement and maintain ASC 606-compliant processes for SaaS contracts.
• Scalability & Process Optimization: Develop scalable financial systems and automation to support growth.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with FP&A on financial strategy, including cash flow and working capital. Work with sales, operations, and legal on billing, sales tax, and revenue operations. Align sales compensation structures with company objectives.
• Leadership & Team Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team.

You are a great fit if you have:

• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a mix of public accounting and private sector experience
• Bachelor’s/Master degree in accounting; active CPA license
• Expertise in GAAP and SaaS revenue recognition
• Experience working in ERP systems (Netsuite) and leading external audits
• Strong work ethic, hands-on and not afraid to dive into the details
• Experience in scaling and improving processes
• Working knowledge of key SaaS metrics
• Experience with sales compensation and equity management such as Carta
• Experience in a high growth startup
• Experience working with senior leaders
• Experience working in multiple-entity business structures

Target Base Salary Range: $140K-200K

The base salary PicnicHealth offers may vary depending upon the scope, complexity, and autonomy of the position and on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
