NFP is seeking a Sr. Accountant. 

The Senior Accountant will have responsibility for all general ledger Accounting functions within certain Central and/or West P&C offices. Specific responsibilities will include the month end close, account reconciliations, discretionary accrual analysis, acquisition support, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and NFP Accounting policy.

The Senior Accountant will develop accounting policies and practices and ensure NFP Central and/or West P&C offices are adhering to GAAP and all legal and regulatory requirements. The position will interact with all levels within the organization (accounting, FP&A, operations, HR, technology, M&A, legal, etc.) to ensure completeness and accuracy to the financial close. This position will interact with a team of satellite Accountants and Senior Accountants focused on the general ledger activities of the region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Close the month-end books in EPIC and Lawson GL for various Central region companies.

· Ensure adherence to GAAP and NFP Accounting policy.

· Complete general ledger account reconciliations monthly, ensuring proper support for balances. Investigate discrepancies and clear in a timely manner.

· Own assigned region and work across teams to provide accounting insight and support as it relates to region

· Manage audit and SOX requirements

· Analyze and support discretionary accruals

· Support system conversions for newly acquired companies. Understand accounting differences and reconcile prior to conversion

· Execute on various regional accounting initiatives

· Perform other projects as assigned

· Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate complex business problems and provide well thought out solutions

· Detail oriented with strong analytic and problem-solving abilities

· May be required to work overtime as necessary

Education and/or Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, CPA preferred

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Accounting in a rapidly growing organization, preferably in a GL Accounting and/or Financial Close role

· Strong Excel experience required

· Strong knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles

· Insurance carrier or brokerage experience preferred

· Experience in a continuous improvement, highly collaborative and matrixed organization with the ability to lead process improvement and affect change

· Experience with Agency Management systems such as EPIC, AMS360, and TAM preferred. Lawson, Cognos, QuickBooks, Workday, and Blackline is a plus.

· Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications and capacity to learn new systems

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

· CPA preferred

The base salary range for this position is $60,000 – $100,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
