Sr. Accountant (Construction) - Hybrid Remote

Salary: $100,000 - 130,000/year with bonus. This position allows for 1-2 days per week remote / work from home. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with specialized knowledge in construction accounting and familiarity with Sage 300 (Timberline) software. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, cost control, and reporting within our construction business.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
• Perform project cost tracking, analysis, and reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for construction projects.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting for construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures specific to the construction industry.
• Work closely with project managers and operations teams to monitor project financial performance.
• Utilize Sage 300 (Timberline) software for financial data management, reporting, and analysis.
• Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry or with a General Contractor (GC).
• Proficiency in Sage 300 (Timberline) software is required.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, job costing, and project management.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with other accounting software.
