Why us, why now?
The Medical Education Initiatives Specialist 1 provides administrative support for a wide variety of programs and projects administered by the Medical Education Initiatives portfolio. This role supports matrixed teams including the Medical Education Research Certificate (MERC) program, the LSL scholarly calls for submission, and the AAMC Virtual Specialty Fair with note taking, information management, website administration, and other administrative tasks. The Specialist serves as a community manager for multiple virtual communities.
How you will make an impact
Manage the MERC program
- Manage end-to-end administration of MERC including the scheduling and delivery of workshops, managing the inbox, and all associated tasks including facilitator and site management.
Implement and manage new virtual community audiences
- Work with portfolio colleagues to devise and support a sustainable plan for continued virtual connection for virtual communities of scholars, advisors, and financial aid leaders.
Support administration of the annual virtual specialty fair
- Work with portfolio colleagues to support the annual virtual specialty fair including managing specialty communication and inbox, platform design, and day-of-event administration.
Support existing work and create new tools and resources
- Work with portfolio colleagues to support the organization and management of mission-aligned work products including resource collections (such as the Equity in Learning Collection), white papers such as Department of Medical Education/Office of Medical Education project, and other scholarly offerings such as the scholarly-disengaged AAMC member institutions project.
