Purpose of Position
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
This position is responsible for the research and cataloguing of East Asian artifacts. Undergraduate and graduate students may apply. Experience not required. Will train.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for research and documentation projects as assigned by the UND Art Collections Curator.
- Projects include research, documentation, and organization of East Asian artifacts as well as Research of antiquities policies and related topics.
Required Competencies
- Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats.
- Must be comfortable using technology such as a macbook and ipad.
- Ability to organize priorities and manage time.
Minimum Requirements
- Available at least 10 hours per week during our regular business hours, Monday-Friday 8-4:30.
- Must have an interest in East Asian culture and history.
- Successful completion of a Standard Criminal History Background Check
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have a background or experience/knowledge in East Asian culture and/or history.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Preference will be given to a student who will be available to spend at least two semesters in this position.
