The Special Education Liaison plays a key role in expanding the school's referral network through proactive relationship-building with attorneys, medical professionals, educators, partner schools, and community-based organizations. This role combines strategic outreach with strategic referral development and requires the flexibility to travel extensively across all Gersh locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high quality customer service and compassion for all families.
- Consistently meet and/or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeted enrollment goals.
- Meet minimum departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key referral sources, including legal professionals, healthcare providers, school counselors, and external placement coordinators.
- Represent Gersh at networking events, professional conferences, and industry meetings to increase awareness of the school’s programs and services.
- Conduct outreach campaigns to generate new leads and partnerships aligned with Gersh’s admissions goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging and ensure consistent branding and communication across referral channels. Travel extensively between Gersh locations to support campus needs, meet with potential referral partners, and maintain a strong regional presence.
- Provide in-person coverage and support across sites based on business needs.
- Maintain a dynamic travel schedule while managing local and regional outreach priorities.
- Consistently achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual enrollment targets.
- Adhere and abide by all admissions directives, policies and procedures. This includes work, campus tours, and open house schedules.
- Maintain schedule flexibility, including availability for evening and weekend work as needed to support outreach and partnership efforts.
- Stay current on trends and regulatory developments in special education and related fields.
- Provide feedback to leadership on market activity, emerging opportunities, and competitor positioning.
- Track referral activity using CRM tools and report on referral pipeline development, outreach effectiveness, and partnership outcomes.
- Other duties as assigned will be approached with flexibility, urgency, and a solution-oriented attitude, especially during high-volume periods or cross-campus initiatives.

- 3+ years of experience in business development, outreach, or admissions within education, behavioral health, or healthcare industries.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain professional referral networks.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage a flexible schedule, and travel frequently.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and basic data reporting.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Frequent travel to all Gersh locations is required. Travel expenses are reimbursed in accordance with Gersh’s travel policy.

Schedule and Availability Expectations
- A strong work ethic
- Schedule must be open to pre-determined campus tour schedules and open houses.
- Travel across campuses and extended availability during peak enrollment periods should be expected.

- Ability to move freely throughout buildings with no restrictions
- Must be able to keep students safe from themselves and others and in some cases, may need to implement CPI procedures

The pay range for this role is $75,000-$85,000 USD per year plus KRA bonus eligible
