Description

 We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Spanish Translator to join our team. The Spanish Translator will be responsible for translating a variety of documents, reports, and communications from English to Spanish and vice versa, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and cultural appropriateness. This position requires a deep understanding of both the Spanish and English languages, along with the ability to adapt the tone, context, and meaning of the original content. The ideal candidate should have experience in translation work and a passion for effective cross-language communication. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Document Translation: Translate written materials such as reports, contracts, marketing content, and legal documents from English to Spanish and Spanish to English.
  • Proofreading and Editing: Review and edit translations for accuracy, consistency, and grammatical correctness.
  • Cultural Adaptation: Ensure that translations are culturally appropriate and convey the intended meaning in the target language.
  • Verbal Interpretation: Occasionally provide verbal translation during meetings or phone calls, facilitating real-time communication.
  • Research: Conduct research on specific terminology and concepts to provide accurate translations, especially in specialized fields such as legal, medical, or technical contexts.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of quality and consistency in all translation work by adhering to guidelines and established standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, clients, or internal teams to understand the context and requirements of each translation project.
  • Time Management: Prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines for multiple translation assignments.
  • Terminology Management: Create and maintain glossaries of frequently used terms to ensure consistency across translations.
  • Stay Updated: Keep up to date with language trends, cultural shifts, and best practices in translation.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Fluent in both Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Previous experience in translation, preferably in professional or business settings.
  • Ability to accurately translate a wide range of subjects, from formal documents to casual communication.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality translations.
  • Proficiency with translation software and tools is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Cost to the employee to participate in the plan varies by the coverage selection and the number of dependents; and may be subject to collective bargaining agreement

Under this arrangement, the employee is provided with an annual opt out payment.
