RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Director, Software Quality Assurance, our Software QA Engineer works collaboratively with a team of quality assurance professionals to ensure constituents have a great user experience with Common App’s software products. The Software QA Engineer is a member of the Quality Assurance Team, and will be expected to plan, develop, and execute comprehensive system tests, while working in an empowered and agile environment. The Software QA Engineer performs a wide range of duties, including functional, security, accessibility, and compatibility tests. The Software QA Engineer also identifies and confirms resolution of defects based on an established QA methodology. This individual will also assist departments across the organization with activities related to quality assurance.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

This role requires:

  • Candidates must live in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science from four-year college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4-6 years of successful, progressive experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth understanding of QA methodologies & testing environments.
  • Thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycles.
  • Strong consultative and analytical skills
  • Proficient in solving problems.
  • Highly experienced in developing end-to-end manual tests.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team based environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to write new QA Automation scripts for existing manual test plans.
  • Ability to enhance and maintain existing QA Automation scripts and automated code.
  • Ability to debug and resolve any code merge issues or conflicts.
