We are looking for a highly motivated Sr. Engineering Manager with
experience in product security development that is customer-focused, and
empathetic people manager to help lead our award-winning SaaS enterprise
and On-Prem vulnerability management products. You'll have the opportunity
to lead and manage a team of engineers while still doing functional
programming (approx. 30%). These products enable organizations to address
the ever-evolving challenge of understanding and mitigating their
cybersecurity risk, while keeping their data under their control.

Your Opportunity

  • Drive development serving a global customer base in SaaS product offering
  • Build & maintain high performing teams that may be a combination of on-site and remote engineers, ensuring a great working environment for both cohorts
  • Manage teams for cloud-based with extensive experience with AWS
  • Collaborate with Product management and Engineering leadership to help define the strategy, roadmap and execution for the various products
  • Ensure reliable execution and delivery of projects by setting your teams up for successful delivery through clear direction
  • Lead teams in understanding priorities, roadmap planning, identifying dependencies, and ensure the on-time delivery of product features via repeatable process
  • Close collaborations with PM, PgM, and Architecture to ensure all functions are aligned and relevant information is communicated effectively
  • Mentor engineers of various levels of experience to ensure our engineers are engaged, challenged, and meeting their professional development goals
  • Fostering a culture of positive collaboration, learn from failures, and continual improvement

What You’ll Need:

  • 4+ years of experience as an engineering manager or lead role in SaaS and on-prem based product development
  • 2+ years functional programming experience (preferably Scala)
  • Based in the greater Boston MA, San Jose/ San Francisco CA, or Baltimore/Columbia MD area
  • Capacity to understand complex software architecture, specifically SaaS systems and Microservices
  • Experience leading projects and coaching engineers through a project’s lifecycle in an Agile environment, utilizing Scrum and/or Kanban
  • Comfortable dealing with changes as we respond to a rapidly changing marketplace
  • Ability to attract and hire great engineers, manage and mentor them and make them successful
  • An ability to work with a remote team and lead them to sustainable long-term success
  • A passion for Quality and a “Get Stuff Done” attitude that is balanced by a sense of responsibility to your customers and team
  • An ability to understand complex software environments and end-to-end system architecture flows (with a solid understanding of Microservices)
  • Experience with developing and maintaining complex applications in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Knowledge of best practices related to legacy development, scalability and performance
  • Understanding of building microservices, along with their benefits and challenges
  • Experience in the cybersecurity space
  • B.S or M.S. Degree in Computer Science or a related field

And Ideally:

  • Knowledge of best practices related to high availability, fault tolerance, scalability, and performance
  • Previous hands-on experience in Java/Kotlin, Elasticsearch, Postgres or Dynamo
  • Previous/Current development experience in containerized distributed systems is a plus
  • Career evolution from software developer, technical lead to management positions

This is the base pay range for this position. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Employees are also eligible for variable compensation in addition to base pay (commission for sales roles, bonus for non-sales roles), depending on company and individual performance.
