Robert Half is seeking a Software Engineer III to provide technology solutions to Workday Competency Center (WCC) teams. This role will be focused on Workday HR/Payroll, Financial, and Professional Service Automation (PSA), and other related integrations across RH internal and external applications.
This Software Engineer III will provide Workday application solutions support to project-based efforts for relevant technical and functional areas, with the ultimate goals of increasing effectiveness, efficiency, security, and the success rate for these activities.
The successful candidate will have the ability to pave processes, drive consensus, provide overall direction, and will be capable of delivering numerous simultaneous technology solutions to solve complex business needs. The position is designed as 100% remote and/or hybrid in office and will be required to travel to San Ramon, CA, up to two (2) times a year for strategic planning.

What You'll Do
- Assists on deployment planning to ensure Workday Integrations, Extend and Security solutions are implemented smoothly in production.
- Assist technical team with issues needing technical expertise or complex systems knowledge.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of data and applications through analysis, coding, clear documentation, and problem resolution.
- Ensure integrations function as designed based on functional and technical requirements.
- Understand and follow defined integration/development standards and best practices.
- Understand and ensure security and data privacy standards.
- Review business procedures/workflows to ensure system features are being fully utilized and identify Workday features that may improve efficiency.
- Provide pre- and post-launch end-user support, change management, issue resolution, testing, and training to enhance and optimize Workday processes.
- Maintain, manage, and build the interfaces and conduct unit and integration tests.
- Provide support for Workday inbound and outbound integration issues, changes to existing integrations and develop new integrations.
- Knowledge on how to create reports and use them in auditing configuration change effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate change management documentation to satisfy Client internal/external audit controls and compliance practices.
- Understand Workday's Implementation Methodology and use it on all projects.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree in related technology is preferred, or equivalent years of experience.
- Must have at least 5+ years working as a software engineer in of experience with Workday Integrations. Experience on WD Extend is a plus but optional.
- Experience with Workday platform development across multiple Workday Finance and HCM module(s).
- Workday Pro and/or Workday Certifications preferred, but not required.
- Experience with integration design.
- Expertise in Workday Integrations and implementation tools (Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Core Connectors, Workday Extend, Workday Report Writer, Calculated fields, and Workday Studio).
- Experience with Web Services and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST and WS standards).
- Technical experience with XML, XLST, JSON, and MVEL.
- Experience in Workday Security practices and Workday Release strategy.
- Experience using Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Conduct peer review as necessary to ensure quality.
- Strong problem solving, priority setting, facilitation, multi-tasking, analytical, and team-working skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent organization skills and an ability to follow issues/requests to completion.
- Manage overall delivery of the project. Provide guidance, instruction, direction, and coaching to team members, regardless of people management.
- Any experience or exposure to MuleSoft, but not required.
The typical annual salary range for this position is shown below and is negotiable depending upon experience and location. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
