POSITION TITLE:

Senior Data Engineer

POSITION DUTIES:

Work on advanced data analytics projects for a world-renowned Internet company.  Lead in the creation, expansion, and optimization of the customer’s data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams.  Involve in defining data structures, designing data marts, building new and optimizing existing data pipelines.  Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.  Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture. Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality of the client’s data systems.  Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.  Conduct quantitative/qualitative data analysis using tools and functions such as SQL, Python scripts, dashboards, and Google spreadsheets.  Work with stakeholders to improve, automate and align data with current client processes.  Work with stakeholders including the Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs through creative solutions.  Lead/mentor others on the team.  Stay connected to industry trends, research and recommend best practices and KPIs.

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Applications, Data Engineering, Analytics or related field.

REQUIREMENTS:

Building ETL processes from big data sets across multiple platforms; SAS, Python, Java, R, and MatLab; querying and maintaining SQL, PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases; Data Warehousing models including Hadoop, MapReduce, and HIVE; determining methods and procedures on new assignments; analyzing data and using analysis to drive key insights and recommendations; working with large data sets across multiple systems; visualizing and presenting data and insights to the organization; advanced Microsoft Office/G-suite; and Basic Machine Learning.

Skills may be gained through academic coursework and concurrently while pursuing academic studies.

RATE OF PAY:

$89,000 to $139,000 per year

Salary Range

$111,720.00 - $176,400.00 USD (Salary)
