Software Engineer III

10x Genomics creates powerful scientific tools that enable key biological discoveries and drive exponential progress in the study of human health. You will be working on modern React-powered visualization applications, incorporating modern front-end development techniques to advance the cutting edge of biology. Our applications such as Xenium Explorer (https://www.10xgenomics.com/platforms/xenium#software) help world-class researchers visualize genetic markers across millions of cells with ease.

What you will be doing

• Design, build, test, and ship production-ready software.
• Create flexible, attractive UI components.
• Enhance and test modules in React- and Electron-driven visualization tools.
• Collaborate with designers to iterate and implement visual design systems.

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline and 2 years of software development experience; OR 4 years of professional experience building software.
• Experience developing web applications in React and Redux.
• Proficient in utilizing modern CSS features and JavaScript (ES5/6) syntax for web development.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with shipping software
• Familiarity with TypeScript 
• Experience with Golang and backend development 
• Experience with web visualization tools (D3, Plotly, three.js, DeckGL) 
• Experience with WebGL 
• Interest in biology and/or DNA sequencing.

Below is the U.S. base pay range for this full-time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, experience, and location.  At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company’s total compensation package.  This role is also eligible for 10x’s equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program.   Your 10x recruiter can share more about the specific base pay range for your preferred location, as well as the Company’s total compensation package, during the hiring process.
