You will join the Fountain Assist team and collaborate with full stack engineers, product, design and an engineering manager. We are a rapidly growing product having just launched and are building features that are core to the product’s success. This team operates with speed and autonomy. You will be expected to make decisions even when faced with uncertainty, and you will have the freedom to do so. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop, maintain and test elegant, user-friendly interfaces using modern front-end tooling
  • Collaborating closely with the design team to translate wireframes and mockups into well-designed UI
  • Implementing responsive designs that ensure a seamless experience across various devices and screen sizes
  • Implement, update or consume RESTful API endpoints, build new functionality in our Typescript backend codebase, as well as the APIs used from our ATS built in Ruby on Rails to power functionality
  • Participating in code reviews and pair programming to maintain code quality, consistency, and best practices
  • Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks and optimizing applications for maximum speed, scalability and ease of use

What you should bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering and specifically in front-end development
  • Proven experience in product-oriented software development
  • Proficiency in modern front-end technologies, including but not limited to:
    • React,  TailwindCSS, MUI, Vite, Vitest/Jest, Playwright, Storybook
  • Experience with back-end technologies, including but not limited to
    • Typescript, Next.js, Prisma, PostgreSQL or equivalent SQL based technology, Redis
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about user interactions and system architecture
  • A general design common sense to be sufficiently aware of the UI/UX problematics to be able to adjust the Figma prototypes to the code and vice-versa
  • Solid understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
  • A passion for creating user-centered designs and a drive to stay updated with the latest trends in UI/UX
  • Capacity to operate independently and confidently, even when dealing with fluid situations

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in new product development
  • An exercised eye to spot misaligned UI components, inconsistent spacing, disparate colors and misbehaving UI components
  • Experience working with Ruby on Rails a plus
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Past positions in startups and international contexts will be appreciated.

Salary Range: $191,000 - $249,000
