Software Development Engineer 3

This position will be required to work USA time zone hours.

About the Team

As a back end developer you will work as part of an Agile development team to deliver capabilities for our Over the Road product suite. You will be joining a team of developers, testers, and product stakeholders who have a passion for creating elegant and robust solutions for our customers. You will leverage the latest technology to improve the quality, stability and performance of our apps.

• Responsible for building and executing against a detailed development schedule.

• Collaborates with the team to identify improvements and upgrades that will reduce cost, improve stability, and increase performance.
• Responsible for engaging with production support staff and remediation of chronic and/or critical production support issues.

Experience you’ll bring

• pick up new technology and switch between tech stacks with a minimum of fuss
• are comfortable working on front-end web code, back end services, data stores, and infrastructure systems
• are a solid architect/designer
• have experience writing modern software deployed in the cloud
• are comfortable with encryption schemes, modern APIs, and front-end frameworks
• have worked on agile teams to deliver software iteratively
• Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline
• 5 years+ experience developing in C/C++/C#
• 5 years+ experience experience with Perl, Python, Informix, Postgres
• 2 years+ experience experience with REST API development
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
   

Bonus points if you have:

• have FinTech experience
• have experience with JBoss
• have experience with cloud technologies
• have experience with CI/CD systems
• have experience working on an Agile team with a tracking tool such as JIRA a plus

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan. Pay Range: $117,000.00 - $155,000.00 Apply
