As a Social Value Solution Lead, you’ll drive excellence in the way we deliver essential services, spearheading efforts across facilities management contracts within our Justice and Immigration (J&I) team. This role offers a unique opportunity to directly influence bids, operations, and ultimately, the positive change we deliver.

As a Social Value Lead across Prisons, Probation, Immigration and Law Enforcement customers, you’ll help ensure we have a robust approach to developing social value solutions in bids, which can then be mobilised and progressed into contract deliverables. Our customers have clear and significant expectations around design and delivery of social value and as such there’s a considerable amount of attention and commercial evaluation attributed to social value in bid weighting (10% of evaluation scores).

Here you’ll be at the forefront of designing, developing, and documenting social value solutions aligned with both customer expectations and our Social Value Framework. Working closely with our J&I bidding teams, you'll ensure our bids to not only meet but exceed social value expectations, maximising our scores and enhancing our competitive edge.

As part of our team, you’ll:

• Lead and support the design and development of social value solutions within our J&I business, ensuring they are not only effective but also deliverable.
• Effectively implement and oversee the operational delivery of social value within J&I FM contracts, ensuring alignment with bid commitments.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to co-design and manage social value bid solutions, responding to customer KPIs effectively.
• Engage with governance processes as a social value subject matter expert, contributing to artefacts, reviews, and presentations.
• Leverage your bid writing experience to develop compelling social value bid responses, adhering to government requirements.
• Maximise future social value scores through a consistent and well-thought-out approach to social value solutions.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to integrate social value into bid development and contract delivery, ensuring proper evidence capture.
• Establish and maintain monitoring, measurement, and reporting processes for social value in line with industry standards and Serco's framework.
• Stay informed of social value regulatory requirements, market trends, and competitor strategies, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.

What you’ll need to do the role:

• Background in business development or complex/solution sales.
• Knowledge of social value activities within the criminal justice system.
• Experience working with the Ministry of Justice, Home Office and Police Force is advantageous.
• Understanding of business lifecycle, sectors, competition, and customers.
• Working knowledge of National TOMs, social value monitoring frameworks, or delivering social impact operationally.
• Experience in social value, CSR/ESG roles within contracting organisations or similar.
• Ability to formulate, cost, and describe social value solutions within bid response requirements.
• Great coaching, communication and relationship management abilities.
• Self-starter with resilience and adaptability to changing priorities.
